How it works
By default the end date is excluded (1 Jan to 3 Jan = 2 days), which is how most legal periods and age calculations work. Tick "include end date" for inclusive counts such as days of service or hotel nights plus checkout day. Working days exclude Saturdays and Sundays (not public holidays); for GCC weekends the same count applies to Friday–Saturday weekends.
Formula
Days = end − start (+1 if inclusive)
Working days = count of Mon–Fri in the range

19 Oct 2026 to 31 Dec 2026: 73 days, 10 weeks 3 days, 53 working days.
Frequently asked questions
How many days is a 3-month notice period?
Calendar months, not 90 days: notice given 19 October ends 19 January. Use the add-days field for day-based periods and the date fields for month-based ones.
How do I count business days in Excel?
=NETWORKDAYS(start, end, holidays) or =NETWORKDAYS.INTL(start, end, 7) for a Friday–Saturday weekend.
